Mit seiner Reifung in drei Fässern ist The Dalmore The Trio eine faszinierende Verbindung seltener und außergewöhnlicher Fässer. Der Whisky wird zunächst in Ex-Bourbon-Fässern aus amerikanischer Weißeiche zur Reifung gebracht. Dies sorgt für das Grundaroma von weichen Vanille- und Honignoten. Der Whisky wird zwischen First-Fill-Ex-Bourbon-Fässern, 10 Jahre alten Tawny-Port-Fässern und 30 Jahre alten Matusalem-Sherry-Fässern aufgeteilt. Die drei Mengen werden dann wieder zwecks Harmonisierung zusammengebracht.

Initially matured for in American white oak ex-bourbon casks, is followed by being split equally between three different sherry woods—Amoroso, Apostoles and Matusalem oloroso. After three years, the spirit is married together in an upstanding sherry butt to allow the flavours to infuse. A robust, yet elegant spirit. The Dalmore proudly presents the Luminary series: a collection of limited edition single malts created by masters of their craft – be it in heritage barleys or architectural design. This second chapter of the series is created in partnership with V&A Dundee, Scotland's premier design museum, and matured for 16 years in Bourbon casks before being finished in Graham's tawny port pipes and Apostoles sherry casks. The complex flavour profile meanwhile brings forth notes of ripe figs, forest fruits, lightly roasted Colombian coffee and brioche.

The Dalmore Quintessence is the first and only single malt whisky in the world with a five red wine cask finish. Master Distiller Richard Paterson travelled to California to hand select the five different casks in which this exceptional whisky would be matured; Zinfandel, Pinot Noir, Syrah, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, each bringing their individual nuances to create a totally unique single malt. Aroma: Black Forest fruits, marmalade and honeycomb. Palate: Tropical fruits, ginger and sun dried raisins. Finish: Cassis, orange, fresh baked banana.
